I live on a high floor (or in an old building) with terrible water pressure. Am I stuck with a regular toilet ?

The Lowdown: Not at all! You just need to make sure you’re looking for a model with a built-in tank or a booster pump.

  • The Standard Models: Most basic smart toilets rely on your home’s "line pressure" to flush. If your pressure is weak (below 20-30 psi), the flush will be pathetic and leave things behind.

  • The Solution: Look for toilets labeled "Zero Pressure Start" or "Tank-Integrated." These units have a hidden internal tank and a small electric pump that creates its own "whoosh" regardless of your building's plumbing.

  • The Verdict: If you’re in a penthouse or an old brownstone, don’t guess. Check your PSI or specifically ask for a "pump-assisted" model so you don't end up with a very expensive seat that won't flush.
